Because the UAZ 2206 Bajkal AMC is based on the UAZ 2206, the engine of choice is the traditional four-cylinder 2693 ccm (82,5 KW) with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The rear axle is used normally but a 4x4 drive can be connected from the driver's seat. All of these vehicles are equipped with a redesigned system of shifting 2H, 4H and 4L, which ensures maximal durability and reliability in rough terrain, in which the two solid Spicer axles come in handy.
In the standard trim, the UAZ 2206 Bajkal AMC features lots of accesories, like an electric rear differencial lock, specific improvements of the main transmission and other minor improvements developed by the AMC company for the Bajkal.

Every model of UAZ 2206 bajkal AMC is equipped with spacious folding bed with matress and storage space in standard version. Bed can be used also as sofa. Sleaping area size is 1 900mm x 1 060 mm (+220 mm added space on left side), there is additional storage space too which doesn't interfere space for sleeping or resting. Optionally can be another bed mount into movable roof type 1P. This bed size is 1 900mm x 1 290 mm.
